MCEX

This extremely compact mixer comes in a 1¾ rack-mount housing and was originally designed for live or tape-delay sporting event reporting. The MCEX mixer can operate in manual or automatic. When manually operated the level of the two channels can be adjusted using two slide controls. Automatic control level operates by attenuating the background audio by 20dBm when the reporter is talking. In any case, the audio level can be adjusted from the front panel. Noise-gate threshold and recovery time are adjustable. A panel LED indicates when the noise-gate is operating. The background effect channel has selectable microphone and line inputs. The mic inputs have dynamic compression circuits and may be used with either dynamic microphones or condenser mics that are phantom powered by the MCEX unit. Control levels utilize VCA integrated circuits. A front-panel VU meter monitors the output line.
